Advanced driven rods are modular in nature and are designed in fi ve foot lengths. The driven rod has been in use since the earliest days of electricity with a history dating as far back as benjamin franklin. After a grounding rod is driven into the soil allow the soil to settle in order to eliminate air pockets.

This is by far the most common grounding device used in the field today. It s probably no coincidence that most rods driven in canada with its harder soil are 3 4 inch in diameter as opposed to 5 8 inch rods which dominate in the united states.
